Head massage is a family tradition in India which has been practised for thousands of years. It is based on the ancient system of medicine - Ayurveda which aims to archive balance of body, mind and spirit as well as the promotion of long life. Mothers taught daughters how to use oils like coconut, sesame, olive almond and mustard oil to keep the scalp and hair in beautiful condition. Barbers would give massage as part of hair cut to leave their clients invigorate.
Traditional Indian Head Massage is focused on the head but the western version incorporates some Swedish style massage and includes the shoulders, upper arms, neck and face.
Indian head massage is excellent for relieving stress and helping to release tension in the muscles of the upper back and neck as well as reliving congestion in the sinus. It stimulates and balances the client's body, mind and spirit.
The massage is received sitting in a chair and be can be done with or without oil and lasts about 30 minutes.
